Tampa Bay's second-year running back rushed for 1,454 yards and scored 12 touchdowns as a rookie, and the Buccaneers believe he's capable of performing even better in 2013. Analysis: Especially with two of the team's best players - guards Carl Nicks and Davin Joseph - returning from injuries to strengthen the offensive line. Martin finished third in the NFL behind Adrian Peterson and Calvin Johnson with 1,926 total yards from scrimmage in 2012. He was fourth in rushing behind Peterson, Alfred Morris, Marshawn Lynch and Jamal Charles after being selected with the 31st overall pick of last year's draft.
6/11/2013	Ryan Clady, T	Clady wass the only no-show for Wednesday's three-day mandatory minicamp. Analysis: Clady, who's recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, is angling for a big contract.
6/11/2013	Willis McGahee, RB	The 11th-year running back skipped each of the Broncos' 10 "voluntary" practices over the last month but showed up for the start of the team's three-day mandatory minicamp Tuesday. Analysis: With second-year pro Ronnie Hillman and rookie Montee Ball getting most of the work out of the backfield Tuesday morning, McGahee got only a few snaps in his first practice since suffering a right knee injury last November. McGahee said he skipped the OTAs for family reasons and insisted that missing those workouts didn't put him in a bad spot by giving the youngsters a head start.
6/11/2013	Ahmad Bradshaw, RB	The Indianapolis Colts agreed to terms with the unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, adding a veteran running back to their crowded backfield. He will join the team Wednesday under a contract whose terms were not disclosed. Analysis: Bradshaw's focus is rehabbing from right foot surgery in January. He visited the Colts last week and got an evaluation by the team after battling injuries to his knee and foot for much of last year.
6/11/2013	Jay Cutler, QB	Cutler says it could take up to three years to master the new offense that is being installed by the Bears. Analysis: Under new coach Marc Trestman and offensive coordinator Aaron Kromer, Cutler is learning his fourth Bears offense in five seasons with the team. He says he has seen progress, but it's a "three-year process." He says it's hard to go out in the first year of a new offense and "blow the doors off."
6/11/2013	Jairus Byrd, S	Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley says he has nothing to report on the status of contract talks with Byrd, who remains a no-show this offseason. Whaley provided the update Tuesday after Byrd was the only Bills player absent for the start of the team's three-day mandatory minicamp. The practices are the final sessions before the Bills open training camp late next month. Analysis: Byrd is not required to attend practice because he has not signed the one-year, $6.9 million contract the Bills offered by designating him their franchise player in March. The move allowed Buffalo to retain the fourth-year player's rights before he was eligible to become a free agent. Byrd has elected to wait in a bid to secure a long-term contract.
6/11/2013	Mike Kafka, QB	The Jaguars were awarded Kafka off waivers from the Patriots on Tuesday, the third New England player claimed by Jacksonville in the last four weeks. Analysis: With rookie quarterback Jordan Rodgers recovering from sports hernia surgery, the Jaguars could use another arm for this week's minicamp. Jacksonville has Blaine Gabbert, Chad Henne and Matt Scott. The Patriots waived Kafka on Monday, creating a roster spot for free agent Tim Tebow. Kafka played in four games for Philadelphia in 2011, completing 11 of 16 passes for 107 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
6/11/2013	Mike Sims-Walker, WR	Sims-Walker and Kellen Winslow Jr. are veterans trying to revive their NFL careers while helping the New York Jets' offense. Both players participated in the team's first minicamp practice Tuesday as part of a three-day tryout with hopes of sticking. Analysis: Sims-Walker was also considered one of the league's rising wide receivers, but never reached expectations and was out of the NFL last year.
6/11/2013	Kellen Winslow, TE	Winslow Jr. and Mike Sims-Walker are veterans trying to revive their NFL careers while helping the New York Jets' offense. Both players participated in the team's first minicamp practice Tuesday as part of a three-day tryout with hopes of sticking. Analysis: Winslow, a former Pro Bowl tight end, was once considered one of the top pass catchers at his position before a failed one-game stint last season with the New England Patriots. He says being a tryout player is "different" but adds that it's "better than sitting on the couch," as he was while waiting for another NFL opportunity. He says he has "got years left."
6/11/2013	Chad Greenway, LB	Greenway has been scheduled for arthroscopic knee surgery to address joint pain. Analysis: Greenway was absent from practice on Tuesday and coach Leslie Frazier said the eighth-year veteran will have the procedure done Wednesday. Frazier didn't specify which leg. The coach said Greenway would be fully recovered in time for training camp, which starts in 6 1/2 weeks.
6/11/2013	Donte' Stallworth, WR	The veteran NFL receiver suffered serious burns in the accident three months ago. He's since recovered and is expected to sign this week with the Washington Redskins after taking part in Tuesday's minicamp practice as a tryout player. Analysis: Stallworth said it took a few weeks for the burns to heal enough for him to resume football training, and his former girlfriend is also doing fine. But the physical scars remain.
6/11/2013	Greg Hardy, DE	Hardy plans to report to training camp on time and play this season even if he doesn't get a new contract from the Panthers. Analysis: Hardy had a breakout season in 2012 with 11 sacks and had been hoping that would be enough to warrant a new deal. But with Carolina's struggles getting under the NFL salary cap this offseason no long-term deal has been reached. Hardy says he understands the team's financial restrictions and won't allow his contractual situation to be a distraction.
6/11/2013	Adam Jones, CB	Jones joined in the afternoon practice on Tuesday, a day after he was arrested on an assault charge. Analysis: Jones declined to answer questions. His attorney entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf Tuesday. Coach Marvin Lewis said Jones' situation is "unfortunate" but he had nothing else to say.
6/11/2013	Andre Smith, T	Smith will miss the Cincinnati Bengals' three-day minicamp and be fined by the team. Analysis: Smith missed the team's voluntary workouts the past three weeks, but was expected to be in Cincinnati on Tuesday for the three-day mandatory minicamp. Coach Marvin Lewis said he'll miss all three days and be fined. Lewis said Smith should be able to catch up on what he misses during the first week of training camp in July.
6/11/2013	Matt Ryan, QB	Ryan insists his focus is on his new teammates and a new season and he's not fretting about the status of his new contract. Analysis: General manager Thomas Dimitroff says he hopes to have a new deal with Ryan before the season. The quarterback's six-year, $66 million contract expires after the 2013 season. Ryan says he's confident Dimitroff and his agent, Tom Condon, "will get that stuff done."
6/11/2013	Terrell Sinkfield, WR	The Green Bay Packers have signed Sinkfield, a speedy rookie who said he posted an astounding 4.19-second 40-yard dash at Minnesota's pro day during the offseason. Analysis: Sinkfield is a 6-foot rookie out of Northern Iowa who was waived by the Miami Dolphins late last month. At Northern Iowa, he had 76 receptions for 1,097 yards (14.4 avg.) and 10 touchdowns. Sinkfield was invited to Minnesota's pro prospect workouts and was told his fastest 40-yard dash was 4.19 and his average over three was 4.33 - still elite speed in the NFL.
6/11/2013	Hakeem Nicks, WR	After missing all nine of the New York Giants' voluntary offseason workouts, Nicks showed up for the start of the team's mandatory three-day minicamp. Analysis: Nicks said he spoke with coach Tom Coughlin on Tuesday morning about his absence, but he would not disclose why he didn't attend the organized team activities despite being pressed by a horde of media around his locker. The 25-year-old Nicks is entering the final year of his contract. He is coming off an injury plagued season that started when he broke his right foot in an OTA last year and hurt his left knee in the second week of the season.

Jones has pleaded not guilty to an assault charge after police say he tried to hurt a woman. Analysis: A police complaint says the 29-year-old Jones is accused of striking the Cincinnati woman last week. The police report lists the injury as apparently minor. It's not the first time Jones has been in trouble. He pleaded guilty in January 2012 to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He had been accused of shouting profanities and trying to pull away as police arrested him at a Cincinnati bar months earlier.
6/11/2013	Tim Tebow, QB	The New England Patriots announced the signing of the polarizing quarterback with the poor throwing motion on Tuesday, six weeks after he was cut by the New York Jets and just in time for the start of the three-day minicamp that runs through Thursday. Analysis: Tebow, 25, is being reunited with Josh McDaniels, the Patriots offensive coordinator who was Denver's head coach when the Broncos traded into the first round to take him with the 25th draft pick in 2010. There is no guarantee that Tebow will still be with the Patriots when training camp begins next month, but if the Patriots keep him, he would have time to develop as a quarterback since Tom Brady holds that job.
6/10/2013	Chad Johnson, WR	Johnson will serve 30 days in jail after violating probation in a domestic violence case involving his then-wife, TV reality star Evelyn Lozada. A plea deal that called for no jail time fell apart Monday. Broward Judge Kathleen McHugh rejected it after Johnson playfully slapped his attorney on the behind in court. McHugh says Johnson wasn't taking things seriously enough, even after he apologized. McHugh also extended Johnson's probation for three months. Analysis: The 35-year-old formerly known as Chad Ochocinco pleaded no contest to head-butting Lozada during an argument in August. The "Basketball Wives" star immediately filed for divorce after barely a month of marriage. Johnson was subsequently released by the Miami Dolphins. He previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots.
