Manning went public this week with his frustration over the firings of coach Jim Caldwell and others after the Colts' 2-14 season. And Irsay on Thursday called Manning a "politician" who shouldn't have aired the dirty laundry. The Colts must decide by March 8 whether to pay Manning a $28 million bonus or risk losing him to free agency.
1/27/2012 Hakeem Nicks, WR Nicks said he aggravated an AC joint in his shoulder.

Analysis: "I expect to be full go," Nicks said of next week. "I am going to use the next couple of days to get it back right."
1/27/2012 Jacquian Williams, LB Williams was wearing a walking cast on his right foot Friday.

Analysis: The rookie isn't sure when he was injured in the NFC title game against San Francisco, but there is a lot of soreness. "Right now, I am just resting," Williams said. "In a couple of days, I'll be running. It's 100 percent I'll test it in Indy. I won't miss this ... I'll definitely practice next week."

1/26/2012 Rob Gronkowski, TE Gronkowski is being held out of practice with an injured left ankle.

Analysis: Gronkowski, who set an NFL record for tight ends with 17 touchdown catches this season, limped off the field in the third quarter of Sunday's 23-20 win over Baltimore in the AFC championship game but returned about five minutes later. On Monday he was seen wearing a removable boot on his left foot. Coach Bill Belichick said that Gronkowski would not take part Thursday in the team's first practice for the Super Bowl against the New York Giants on Feb. 5.
1/25/2012 Chris Hoke, The Steelers announced Hoke is retiring.

Analysis: The 35-year-old Hoke spent 11 seasons with the Steelers after originally signing with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Brigham Young in 2001. Hoke sustained a neck injury following a 17-13 victory over Jacksonville in October. The injury required surgery and the team placed him on season-ending injured reserve in December. Hoke played in 114 games during his career, finishing with 81 tackles and two sacks.
1/25/2012 Rob Gronkowski, TE Gronkowski was listed as unable to practice on Wednesday on the team's first injury report since he injured his left ankle in the AFC title game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Analysis: "Well, I sucked pretty bad today, but our defense saved us," said Brady, who completed 22 of 36 passes. "I'm going to try to go out and do a better job in a couple of weeks, but I'm proud of this team, my teammates."
